As many as 12-15 Chinese companies that are vendors for Apple will be given the green light to supply critical components, as domestic suppliers are unavailable.
This was reported by the Times of India on December 26th. Apparently, Apple had approached the Indian government to get its manufacturing ecosystem established in the country in order to ramp up production. Even though the government has been cautious about allowing fresh investments from Chinese companies–including those already in India–an exception is being made for Apple’s vendors.
