Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently declared the launch of Meta Verified, a payment-based subscription. This service is available on both Facebook and Instagram for either 11.99 dollars per month or 14.99 dollars monthly on iOS devices. Users will enjoy extra security from impersonation and be granted a blue badge with their account by signing up. The introduction of this service has gained interest, as it bears resemblance to Twitter Blue’s offer of a blue checkmark plus additional features at a charge.
- The product is launching this week in Australia and New Zealand, and is expected to be available in the U.S. and other countries in the coming months, Meta said.
- Users will need to submit their government ID to be verified.
